You are here because you are considering booking a session or have already booked with Georgia Lynn Photography and are wondering what you should expect! Photography sessions can seem intimidating but I promise, they don’t have to be. I want to put you at ease and make the experience comfortable and smooth from start to finnish

My Style.

I take a lifestyle approach to my sessions and my goal is to create a casual, pressure-free environment. This means I am focusing on capturing the little moments and emotion of my subject(s). I want to capture you at your most natural and spontaneous. I will provide some lightly posed images but the majority of the gallery will aim to document the more candid, honest moments. Be prepared to play and move and hug, a lot! I’m not here to follow a set of photo “rules” and I strive to keep our session relaxed and make sure everyone is comfortable. The more comfortable and relaxed you are, the more you'll enjoy the experience, and that will show in your photos!

Booking.

As soon as you are ready, please reach out via my CONTACT page to start the booking process.  I book out well in advance and only take a limited number of projects each month to ensure a curated experience for my families. If you are looking for a newborn session, please contact me as soon as possible so that we can get you onto the schedule ahead of time! Once I receive your inquiry request I will provide you with my booking file to select your session or collection; an invoice, contract and payment portal are conveniently included for a seamless booking. A 25% non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking; this guarantees a place on my calendar for you. Full payment is due on the date of your session.

Scheduling.

Depending on the session booked, I will always provide my availability for you to review before moving forward. For Newborns, I aim to provide as much flexibility as possible and will finalize (or reconfirm) your session date after the baby arrives and you are feeling ready. For outdoor sessions, after booking I will send my calendar link for you to confirm a date/time that fits your schedule. See further details below regarding timing and weather policy.

Take note that I hold weekday hours (daytime & evenings), and book weekends on a very limited basis. Please reach out as early as possible to discuss your scheduling needs. If you have any questions or concerns regarding scheduling, let me know as it can be helpful to chat details over the phone!

Planning.

After you have completed the booking process and you are officially on my books, I will follow up with a client questionnaire to gather information that will help me plan for your shoot! Fun stuff like location planning, aesthetic/style, any special ideas and the must-have photos you are looking for, and more. I am a big fan of Pinterest and think it can be a great tool to collaborate and plan. Feel free to check out some of my existing style and mood boards here.

Location.

Depending on the season and your desired style, we can plan an outdoor, in-home or studio session. Your session can take place wherever you feel most comfortable as I like to work in settings where you can relax, play, and forget I’m even there. For outdoor sessions, I have several locations I am happy to recommend, or I am always up for going to any location that is special to you, interests you, or somehow represents your personality!

Timing.

Since I work exclusively with natural light, outdoor sessions will take place 1-1.5 hours prior to sunset, or early morning on some occasions. The lighting at these times, otherwise known as “golden-hour,” is softer and much more flattering than any other time of day and this is when I aim to schedule photos. A cloudy/foggy day can produce exceptional photos as well, in which case the timing may be adjusted up to 30minutes. Indoor and in-home sessions come with more flexibility and we can coordinate a time that works best for your schedule.

Weather.

Weather can change rapidly here in Missouri. If the forecast is questionable, I will contact you the week beforehand to talk about options and schedule a backup date. You are also welcome to provide an indoor option for the session as an alternative if the date cannot be changed. I will wait until the day of to make the “call” for a reschedule. This includes rain at the time of your session and temperatures at or below 40 degrees fahrenheit. Overcast skies, moderate wind or rain earlier in the day are not automatic triggers for rescheduling. I may ask to move up or push back by up to 30 min when necessary and your flexibility is appreciated. If we do need to postpone due to weather, I make every effort to find the best date for both our schedules.

After the session.

After your session, I upload your photos to my computer, back them up, and begin editing. It takes about two to three weeks to prepare your full gallery from your session, unless otherwise stated. Once I have completed editing your session, I will upload your final images into an online gallery for viewing and downloading and send you the link and via email. You will also be able to order high-quality prints directly from your online gallery. You will find that these prints are professional quality and highly recommended for lasting, timeless prints.

Social Media, Sharing & Privacy.

I understand that privacy is a concern for some of my clients and do my best to balance any concerns you may have with my own need to market my business, much of which is necessarily done online. I will usually share a few ‘sneak peek’ photos online and once I know that you have seen your full and completed gallery, I aim to showcase your session on Instagram and/or other social media sites(blog). Unless given permission in advance, none of the photos I share online are tagged in any way, and I don't mention first or last names in association with any images. The most identifying thing that I do is tag images with a general (town) location... otherwise, I try to make it as anonymous as possible, such that individuals would only be identified if someone who knew them happened to be perusing my social media or website. That level of privacy is built into how I run my business.

If you would prefer that identifiable images of specific people from the session not be shared (i.e. you don't care if your photo is shared but don't want your kids' faces, or vice versa) please let me know prior to booking! Your privacy and wishes are my top priority and I like to discuss this with you in advance.
